Speaker:  Michael Rumpf

Topic: “German Research” Michael Rumpff has been researching his family history for many decades but has seriously increased his interest since retiring. He is currently Chairman of the International Settlers Group, a Service Group of the Genealogical Society of Victoria, of which he is a Councillor. The Rumpff family name left Frankfurt am Main for Australia in the 1850s, and the generations prior to this came from Butzbach, in Hesse, north of Frankfurt. Michael has travelled to the archives in Frankfurt, and in Butzbach on a number of occasions.
