A controversial topic from the Australian involvement in the Boer War is the overwhelming of the camp of the 5th Mounted Rifles at Wilmansrust. Official reports about the defeat were difficult to obtain and this aided the belief that the unit brought the good name of the Australian soldier into disrepute. The honour of the 5th VMR and that of the Aussie soldier was regained when the truth finally prevailed.

Presented by Dr. Robin Droogleever, President of the Anglo Boer War Study Group of Australasia, author of a number of books on the Boer War.
