The AFH is a bibliography of family histories published in and relevant to Australia. It not only provides bibliographic details of each book, but more importantly indexes all of the main family surnames mentioned in each of them, as well as states and regions in Australia. It currently contains over 10,000 titles and is being added to monthly. There are hundreds of thousands of names indexed. Family History Connections' holdings of titles are noted in the records; locations of other titles can be found through the link to the National Library of Australia catalogue. This project was started by Ralph and Amy Reid, with the first edition published in 2004 and last edition in 2015.

Family History Connections took over the project in 2017, and it is now a searchable online database.
