During opening hours our resource centre is staffed by friendly volunteers, who are always ready to help where they can. Apart from our facilities, such as 2 film and fiche scanners, 18 computers, traditional microfilm readers, access to subscription databases and a large collection of resources, we also offer the following services.

One on One Assistance

If you would like to meet in the Resource Centre for a one or two hour discussion with one of our researchers, please forward this application form and you will be contacted regarding suitable dates and times of availability.

Fee: $25 per hour for members and $40 per hour for non-members (maximum 2 hours) payable on the agreed date.

Family History Data Entry Service

Person must have Ancestry program and be willing to allow Editorial rights to the Researcher to undertake this task. (Note: Applicants must be prepared for the many hours required to have this done for them).

Fee: $25 per hour for members and $40 per hour for non-members (maximum 2 hours) payable on the agreed date.

Certificates of births, deaths, marriages, etc.

England and Wales BDM Certificates Full Reference numbers from the GRO Index are all that is required. The certificate will be posted to your home address. Indexes for these dates and application forms are available in the library. Members $25 | Non-members $30
England & Wales Wills We can supply you with a copy of the Will or Admon posted to your home address. Indexes and application forms are available at the resource centre. Members $20 | Non-members $25

Will transcription

Are you unable to decipher an old will - Australian or English? We have a team of people ready to transcribe that particularly difficult will. It will be at the coordinator's discretion to reject wills which in their opinion are too difficult to decipher. Please contact us to apply.

COST: $24 per hour for members ($38 per hour for non members) with an option to have the transcribed document recorded on a storage device at an extra cost. Payment to be made at the time of the request.

Country visits

As a service to all groups of people from the country, we will arrange for our volunteer resource centre assistants to open the library on a Sunday, between 10am and 4pm to groups of 10 or more people. Please contact us with a choice of dates so that a suitable day can be arranged. Members are admitted free. Our normal visitors fee of $20.00 inc. GST will apply to non-members. Tea and coffee are available.
